Good Enough to Be Lost

"How good do I have to be to be saved? Show me the list of requirements and I'll give it my best shot."

This describes the attitude of some who claim to be Christian. With such individuals, being good is a behavioral thing. Being good and doing good are part of a "have to" attitude that keeps track of doing right and wrong.

The problem is you can be good and still be lost!  Jesus, the Heavenly Doctor, did not come to help "good", or "well" people. He came to help the sick. What would you think of a doctor who spent all of his time with people who were well?

The fact is, we're all sick and need to see the Doctor. Unfortunately, many don't recognize this. Carefully read this passage of Scripture: Matthew 25:31-46.

Scripture describes a future time when all people will be divided into two basic groups.

1). Those who are good but think they are bad

2). Those who are bad but think they are good

If you recognize your "badness," and feel overwhelmed with a sense of fear, you know what it means to need a Savior.

One who wants to be your Savior says, "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" --Jesus Christ (Matthew 11:28).
